Staffing Coverage lays your actual call activity over a 7-day, 24-hour grid, puts average agents active next to average calls per week in every cell, and ranks the slots where the gap is worst.
The 7 × 24 Grid
Every day-and-hour cell carries two numbers: average calls per week, and average agents active. The whole grid runs in your company timezone, so 2pm means 2pm to the people who work the shift.
A Lookback You Choose
Average across the last 4, 8, 12, or 20 weeks. A short window catches a recent shift in demand; a long one shows the pattern that has actually held.
Spike Weeks, Held Separately
A week running more than twice the median is flagged as a spike and left out of the baseline view, so one outage or one billing cycle does not redraw your normal staffing picture. Switch views to put the spikes back in when the spike is the thing you are planning for.
Top Understaffed Slots
The grid ranked into a table: day, hour, average calls per week, average agents, the ratio between them, a recommended headcount, how far short you are, and a status. It is the list you take into a scheduling conversation.
SLA Health Heatmap
Service level, abandon rate, answer rate, and average wait, coloured hour by hour against thresholds your admins set — 80%, 5%, 90%, and 60 seconds out of the box. Requires a connected telephony integration supplying queue snapshots.
Per-Team Breakdown
Map teams to queues once and each team gets its own grid, its own shift table, and its own understaffed list — so a coverage gap belongs to somebody rather than floating at company level.
What This Is, and What It Is Not
This is shift coverage analysis based on historical call activity. It is a description of what has already happened on your floor, not a machine-learning prediction of next month's volume — it tells you that Tuesday at 10am has been understaffed for the last twelve weeks, not that it will be understaffed in March.
Coverage is inferred from call-handling activity rather than from login state. An agent counts as active in an hour because they were handling calls in it, not because a client was open on their desktop. That is deliberate — it is the measure that lines up with the volume it is being compared against — but it means an hour spent on after-call work or in training will not show up as coverage.
How It Fits with the Rest of the Platform
